How To Save Money The Easy Way

9th March 2022 by shoestringjane@outlook.com Leave a Comment

This is a collaborative post.

We all know how important it is to save money. It’s hard to prepare for crises if you don’t have any money, and it’s far simpler to go into debt without realising it.

Despite this, not everyone prioritises saving money when they have the opportunity. Spending might be enjoyable, but saving is much more essential. However, if you have a lot of monthly bills to pay out, saving even a little amount of money can be challenging and nerve-wracking.

You would be considerably more inclined to save money if it were made easy. The following are some of the simplest methods to guarantee that you save money rather than spend it, and if you follow these suggestions, your savings account should soon be full, and you won’t have to worry about having enough money for those essentials that arise from time to time.

Make A Plan

You may save just for the sake of saving, but you’ll be more likely to do so and less inclined to spend it on anything else if you have a strategy and a purpose for doing so. Why are you saving in the first place? These are all potential reasons (and of course, there are more):

  • A family holiday
  • A brand new car
  • Moving
  • A college savings account
  • Payments on debt owed

You’ll be more motivated to save money if you have a specific goal in mind and a set amount to work toward. If you don’t have a good reason to save, you might feel as though you may as well spend it all, which makes it more difficult to build a savings account.

Make It Manageable

You can save money by setting away a percentage of income each month. As a result, you’ll know how long it will take you to save for your goal, as well as how much money you’ll have to spend each month on necessities.

Although this seems like a good idea, it has a flaw: the amount you’re saving. Make sure it’s something you can handle and will be able to do without missing out on other things. If you’re having difficulties paying your expenses because you’ve saved too much, you’ll need to change your habits quickly. Saving is a wonderful thing, but you must do it with caution not to create problems in other areas.

A good starting point is £10 a month, gradually increasing this amount until you feel comfortable and it has no impact on the rest of your daily life.

 Have An Emergency Fund

Some people have difficulty in that they are diligently saving towards something, and then an emergency arises. Their car may have broken down or have a flat tyre, or there may be an issue inside the home, or they may need to go to visit relatives, and so on. These things happen unexpectedly and might be expensive.

Why is this an issue if you have money saved? It’s because the concept of saving for one specific item is so ingrained in people’s minds that they could be hesitant to utilise that money for anything else. As a result, they pay for their emergency using a credit card or taking out a loan. Then, not only must they save, but they must also repay these monies. They will eventually be unable to save any longer.

This is why having two separate savings accounts might be beneficial. One is for a specific purpose, while the other is for emergencies. Split the expenditures, or simply fill up the emergency fund now and again. Regardless of how you do it, you’ll know that you can always have your car mended or call on a great lawyer such as those at Beyond Law for assistance when you need it without hurting anything else around you.
