This is a collaborative post.

If you are wanting to make some extra money on the side then look no further, here we have a super helpful guide to side hustles. If you are unsure of what a side hustle is, it is a job or hobby on the side of your regular job that brings in extra money. We say job or hobby as you can make money from making things, such as candles for example. Take a look below for three popular options for side hustles.

Property Investment

The first on our list of lucrative side hustles is property investment. This is buying properties to then sell or rent to others. It can be a very enjoyable and rewarding side hustle. It can be done full-time and part-time, so it makes a great choice for a side hustle if you have the capital.

You need to research and make sure you have enough funding to get into this business. If you are new to the world of property development then you might find it useful to get advice from professionals. Search Party Property is one such company that can help you find your feet when it comes to investments.

Freelance

Another option when it comes to side hustles is working as a freelancer. You can do absolutely anything as a freelancer, from decorating to writing. Whatever your interests or areas of expertise are there will be something in the freelance field just for you.

There are websites where you can advertise your services. Usually, you create a profile that specifies what you offer and how much your services are. People will then message requesting your help and you accept or decline.

There are also companies that are always on the lookout for freelancers who are looking for regular work. They may be tricky to find but once you do then you will always have some work to be getting on with.

Childcare

Finally, childcare is a broad spectrum umbrella; there are so many options when it comes to childcare as a side hustle. You could look into being a tutor or a babysitter. You don’t even necessarily need to have any qualifications in order to pursue childcare as a side hustle. As long as you have a passion for working and helping children then that is sometimes enough for people and families.

You could become a tutor in the evenings or on weekends. A lot of families, especially since the pandemic, have wanted extra tutoring for their children. Unfortunately, children have missed a lot of schooling so parents don’t want their children to be behind.

You could also advertise your services as a babysitter. There are websites dedicated to childcare and all the job titles that come under that. Similar to freelancing you specify what you can offer and how you can help, then set your fees and wait for parents to message. You can also message parents offering your services.

If you are working with children in the UK, you will need an up to date DBS check.

We hope you found this article helpful and it gives you lots of ideas and tips for side hustles. Enjoy the extra money. Remember that any side hustle you have will be classed as self-employed, so you are responsible for your own taxes.
