This week’s meal plan is a little more relaxed than it has been as far as calories are concerned. I met my Slimming World target! I am sticking with the eating plan overall as I don’t want to slip back into the old, unhealthy habits that gave me a spare tyre…
You can read more of the posts about my Slimming World journey here.
I am out at the SHOMOs blogger awards! Mr S will fend for himself. I will give you a report of all that went on at the awards next week.
There will be sandwiches, cakes and pizza, plus the odd glass of bubbly. I will try not to over eat though and plan to take some fruit and cereal bars in my handbag.
As long as there is no repeat of last year, when I went down with a horrible attack of the winter vomiting virus on the train home, I will be happy. Truly horrific!!
I expect to be a bit tired after my day in London so will keep it simple on Sunday. We will probably have something like pork chops or nut cutlets from the freezer, with roast potatoes, carrots and chard from the garden. Gravy too, of course.
Something else that is ready to eat from the garden is our early pumpkin harvest. The little ones are ripe, although the giant ones are still green. Huge though!
When my daughter went shopping in Asda, she bought us one of the Simply Cook recipe boxes for Goan fish curry. We had it before and it was delicious, so I was really happy to find you didn’t have to subscribe to Simply Cook to try it. I always use the half fat coconut milk to make this and whatever cheap white fish is available.
Pretty much all the kits we have tried have been lovely, even though we decided not to continue our subscription. If you are short of time and inspiration you might like it – my daughter swears by them as she finds cooking boring. However, she does like eating nice food!
You just get the spice mixes – you still have to buy the meat, fish or veg. I don’t like the idea of the subscription boxes where all the ingredients arrive for you. That’s got to be an expensive way to shop!! You can get a Simply Cook box for £1 using my referral code, smply.in/JB9795.
Red Dragon pie with the last of our runner beans and some chard. I love this recipe!
Red dragon pie again – there should be enough for two nights.
Bacon and chard omelettes, air fried potatoes, grilled tomatoes from the greenhouse and peas. A nice, easy end of week dinner, as ever.
So that’s this week’s meal plan. What are you eating?
