It’s Fine To Care For Your Privacy, You Know

A little privacy can go a long way sometimes. It’s worrying to see how the trend is to accept invasion of our privacy these days. We’re all guilty of it. How many terms and conditions have you accepted without reading through? The answer is ‘potentially hundreds’ at this point. Most of us simply expect our phones to be spying on us, or our social media accounts to be tracking our activity day and night. Not only that, but targeted advertisements follow us everywhere around the web. Simply search for a new bicycle seat through a search engine and what do you know, all the YouTube videos you watch are bookended with this kind of offering.

But it’s fine to give yourself some kind of privacy in your personal life. Doing this might help you stay a little more secure compared to others. It can potentially help you secure your valuables, or ensure that your activity cannot be exploited by companies. After all, if you’re being offered something for free in the modern world, you are likely the product.

Consider our advice:

Trees

Privacy fencing can only go a certain way to prevent the onlooking eyes of people surrounding your property. Of course, in certain urban areas, you’re going to have many potential viewpoints to your property from all forms of height and distances. But in suburban or semi-rural areas? You might be able to implement a longer-term solution. Implementing a tree line can help obscure the view into your property quite well, and can also be beautiful. Of course, not all properties have the room nor the permission to plant large trees, as roots can often impede the natural pathway of roads and/or pathways. Hedges can work just as well in these instances, sometimes even more so.

Valuables Storage

Sometimes you think it could be a wise idea to store your most valuable items somewhere else other than your property. This means that if you suffer a break-in, you needn’t have to worry about your long-term investments. Perhaps you have a range of beautiful art you would rather keep in private storage units, or perhaps you have a hobby you wish to keep the essential equipment for in an area other than your home. There are a range of reasons why you might want to implement something offsite, and whatever justification you have is likely valid.

Browsing Extensions

Of course, it’s not always the case that physical privacy is all we need. Our devices often transmit plenty of information about us on a daily basis. Our locations, our browsing habits, our purchasing decisions, all is collected. Installing browser extensions on your mobile and desktop can prevent this from occurring. Ublock Origin can prevent advertisements from coming your way, as well as options like Decentraleyes or Disconnect giving you the tools to prevent tracking through Google or social media plugins from place to place. This makes your online profile a little harder to deduce for most companies, and that’s likely what you want.

With these tips, you will care for your privacy with wisdom.
