How Much Money Is Your Lawn Soaking Up?

This is a collaborative post.

Your lawn  takes up a lot of space in your garden. It’s probably the part of your outdoor world that you prioritise. After all, if it’s uneven in colour or has some dry or mossy patches, you’re going to break the entire aesthetic you’ve carefully cultivated over the years you’ve been a gardening master!

You’ve got your plant and flower beds growing all kinds of lovely bulbs and seeds, you’ve got those grow bags lined up against the shed to get the tomatoes out in time for a late spring salad, and then you’ve got the pond and the compost heap at the back of the garden. But in the middle lies your lawn – it’s the focal point, and it’s where you’ll be

This is why taking care of the lawn can get so expensive! You can spend hundreds, and maybe even thousands over your gardening career just to keep it in good nick. So let’s examine the money you’re paying out, and how you can cut down a little.

Spending on Landscaping

The cheapest way to take care of and cultivate a garden is to do so by yourself. But a lot of people like to hire gardeners to do the work for them, considering these people possess greater skills, which means the job will get done properly. But when it comes to paying for landscaping a lawn, how much can the costs rack up?

Professional gardeners can charge anything from about £50 per hour to about £200+, depending on the kind of work you want them to do. If they bill per day they can charge a lot more, upwards of about £500. Of course, if you only get the gardeners around once a week, or once a fortnight, this doesn’t seem like a big investment. But how much money could you save, based on the amount of time you could put into your garden in the same two weeks? You live there, you can always access the garden, which means you can mow the lawn and sprinkle fertilizer on it whenever you need to.

Spending on the Equipment

Buying the right equipment to take care of your lawn can really stack up, as mowers, strimmers and leaf cutters can wear away and break down after repeated use. Even just a crossed wire or a bit of water leaking through the shed roof can cause an expensive maintenance issue.

Of course, you can try to eliminate the need to mow the lawn to try and take care of this issue – Visit New Lawn if you want to know more about an option like that – but finding out some tried and tested ways to fix your lawn mower all on your own is a very viable option!

Your lawn could be a very expensive place to hang out, when all is said and done. Make sure you know how to save money on it.
