What do you do to navigate the miserable month of a cold January? Do you try to spend nothing and just “survive” or do you feel that it’s the opportunity to take advantage of numerous sales?
The big problem for most of us is that January smacks of a Christmas hangover, which means that we resign ourselves to the fact that January is a particularly boring month. But that doesn’t mean that you should just batten down the hatches and stay indoors feeling miserable. In fact, there are ways for you to really enjoy yourself.
Watch All Those Movies You’ve Been Meaning To Get Around To
While you may very well have exhausted your Netflix supply, there are a collection of the best torrent sites out there so you can download the latest TV shows and movies. While most of us are shunning a trip to the cinema because it can be so expensive, at the very least we can stock up on popcorn, sweet treats, and just relax with a handful of movies.
Make A Few Date Nights
The big problem with January is that we don’t feel like we want to do anything. It’s a very miserable month when we don’t have money, but it’s important to get creative. Perhaps you’ve been working hard to get enough money to pay for Christmas presents and now you’re just exhausted? One of the great little ways to rejuvenate is to spend proper time with your partner. You don’t have to go out, and in fact, you can have the perfect evening without going anywhere! Take advantage of the numerous offers on supermarket wine and cook a meal that you’re both going to love.
If you are someone who always feels like they’re on the go and never has an opportunity to do anything for themselves, a cheap weekend in is the perfect opportunity to rejuvenate yourself. If you like your own company, it’s worth setting aside a few hours on the weekend to get round to that book or start thinking about what you want to achieve this year. January is the perfect opportunity for us to make new resolutions, from learning a language to being a bit happier. But what we can forget about to develop a new habit is that we need proper time to do it.
Rearrange The Home
The great thing about January when you have no money is that you may have a lot of time on your hands. Rather than getting frustrated, it’s far better for you to tackle those important tasks that have been on your to-do list for some time. Rearranging the home gives you that pride in your property, but it’s not something that you can do over the course of a day. If you want to eke it out, you can spend a good few weekends planning your attack.
Cheap and cheerful is the goal to get towards the end of January. There’s not long left but even when you have no money and you feel miserable, try these things during any time of the year.
