I try buying Christmas presents during sales such as black friday or the January sales.

My best Christmas tip is to start buying presents earlier in the year during sales!

Have an honest conversation with friends and relatives about buying or not buying each other presents.
We now only buy for the ‘little ones’ (from a wish list written by parents) and the ‘grown ups’ make the effort to meet up for meals or drinks. That means not receiving gifts that will not be appreciated or never used and not spending hours searching for the right present for someone’s other half that you rarely see.

I buy at thrift stores and on sale through the year. This year our immediate family has drawn one name each to buy for, and for the first time I’m sending family gifts to extended family.

Our family don’t buy presents for the adults. It saves a lot of time and money and worry.

We only buy for the children in our family and I ask the parents for suggestions so that the present will be used

On Christmas day spread gifts over the day by having a Christmas treasure hunt…. Make a simple list of clues.. Put them in a jar…. Kids pick out a clue and go in search of where gift is… Lots of fun and a good way to spread out treats over the day.
