Sprouts aren’t just for Christmas!

imageA very quick post today as work is mayhem and I have a busy evening ahead too. Back to reality!

I managed to get some seasonal food at bargain prices this week. A huge load of sprouts for £1 reduced from £2.99, a gluten free  christmas pud which was 70p rather than £3, GF fruit cake slices for 50p rather than £2.50 and a big bag of chestnuts for 95p rather than £4.

We will happily eat sprouts and cake at any time of the year! And I feel a chestnut and mushroom roast coming on for the weekend.

Anything to keep grocery costs down works for me! Have you found any foodie bargains?

  1. I absolutely LOVE Brussels sprouts, and have since I was a small child. I used to beg my mom for them. How my older siblings let me live is a miracle. 🙂 I didn’t like meat or dairy as a child, but adored vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, spinach, squash, etc. and would happily eat those with rice or potatoes. They’re all still my favorites at age 53!

  2. I love sprouts – great bargains there.
I never seems to get any whoops stuff, I must be visiting mu supermarket at all the wrong times….:(

  3. Not a big fan of brussels sprouts…the flavor is very strong. However, I did have them recently when they were grilled with some sort of sauce, and they weren’t too bad. You are so good at shopping for bargains.
