New page!! How to save £££s

I have made a new page – How to Save £££s on your Food Bill, which you will find at the top by the title bar. This article contains more or less all I know about eating cheaply and healthily. It’s commonsense really, but it may provide some inspiration.

I hate to waste food! Today for my lunch at work I have left over veggie stew and mash from last night’s dinner. It started life as chicken stew; only the gravy and veg were left so that is what I am eating. On this dark and rainy autumn day it is much more satisfying than a sandwich 🙂 !

The weather is horrible here in Essex. I am loath to turn the heating yet as we are fine with another layer, but my poor Angolan student is feeling it I think. I did tell her it would get cold and she would need plenty of jumpers, but I don’t think she realised I was talking about indoors! I will turn it on if she turns blue but up until then she will need to wear a cardigan and some socks, as we do. It is only September!!

I hope you have sunshine where you are and that you enjoy reading my new page.

We always wait as long as possible before turning on the heat. We use our fireplace if we just want to take the chill off the room and like you we dress warmly and wear socks and slippers in the house. I can’t abide the ones who moan and groan about how cold they are but then dress like it is the middle of summer. Hopefully your Angolan student did bring some warm stuff with her and wears it.

Thanks Jane that is a really useful addition to your blog, especially the menu plan.
How about a post on frugal beauty?
Also do I remember you once saying that you had an Instagram account or was it twitter?
Thanks for inspiring us in our frugal ways.
    Best wishes Jo.
